Proton Cars (UK) Limited (PCUKL) is pleased to announce the development of a flagship retail site at Carrow Road, the home of Norwich City Football Club.
As the only car manufacturer to have a retail site at a football club, the showroom, incorporated within the newly completed Jarrold Stand, opened for business on 28 February 2005.
Simon Park, General Manager of Sales and Marketing said: "Norwich Proton will offer Proton Cars excellent representation within our home city of Norwich and will showcase our full product range including the newly launched GEN-2. Our products will be supported by other Group products including a Lotus Elise and motorcycles from the recently acquired MV Agusta and Husqvarna ranges, to create a real brand experience."
The proximity to Proton’s UK head office is not the only obvious link - the showroom is a further benefit of the existing relationship between Norwich City Football Club and Proton and Lotus Cars who are the Canaries’ shirt sponsors.
"We are not only demonstrating our commitment to the club but also hope to attract Norwich City Football Club fans and drive footfall into the dealership," Simon Park continued. "The flagship site is all about raising awareness of the product and brand and we hope that by engaging fans and enhancing their new car buying experience that we can really reach out to people at a local level. It makes sense for us to utilise our sponsorship of Norwich City Football Club to create a unique experience for customers."
The Norwich Proton dealership is also a bonus for Norwich City Football Club. Andrew Cullen, Director of Sales and Marketing commented: "We are delighted and extremely proud that Proton have chosen to site their new Norwich showroom at Carrow Road. This latest development, another first for football, demonstrates the special relationship that exists between Norwich City Football Club and Proton Cars whose sponsorship has been a significant factor in the Club’s success. We are committed towards helping Proton achieve a return on their major investment in the Club. We do hope that our supporters and indeed many more people in Norwich will take time to visit the new showroom and experience for themselves the increasingly respected Proton range of vehicles. We wish both Proton Cars and Norwich Proton every success with this new venture."
The Dealership will be operated by Coredale Limited, which currently represents Proton in Fakenham and Cromer. Dale Coleman, Managing Director of Coredale Limited said: "We are delighted to be Proton’s partner in Norfolk. These are exciting times for both Proton Cars and Coredale and we are looking forward to spreading the news to the people of Norwich and the county."
Norwich Proton was officially opened on Monday 28 February by Norwich City Football Club majority shareholder and cookery writer, Delia Smith, who also owns a Proton GEN-2.
