Porsche Festival

Joining the 5,500 examples of Porsches finest sportscars at Brands Hatch for the annual Porsche Festival (August 28-29) will be a handful of tractors….yes, tractors.

Sitting quietly alongside the exotica and historic race and rally cars, including the awesome 917 multiple Le Mans winner, will be six tractors proudly bearing the Porsche badge.

It is a little known fact that the German marque was responsible for over 150,000 examples of this most famous of farmyard machinery from 1948 to 1963.

One of rarest examples on display at the Festival will be a special streamlined coffee plantation tractor. Resembling an orange bullet, it is the only surviving model of its kind in the world. Other versions trackside include; Porsche Master, Porsche 108F, Porsche R22, Porsche 312 and a Porsche AP16.

The Porsche Festival will also celebrate five iconic birthdays. The Carrera will mark its half-century, the 912 becomes 40 years young and the 924 hits 30. Meanwhile, the ‘Slantnose’ Turbo reaches 20 and the 993 celebrates its tenth birthday.

Discounted advance tickets can be bought online at www.porschefestival.com/tickets . Advance weekend tickets cost £35 per adult (£34 online) or £20 per day (£19 online). Tickets on the gate will cost £25 per adult per day, with children aged 12 and under free. Parking and paddock access is also free.
