The new V8 twin-turbo Porsche Cayenne S Diesel will go on sale in January 2013 priced from £58,243. With the performance on tap and fuel consumption V8 twin-turbo diesel is bound to attract strong following taking sales from the petrol line-up.
Powered by a 4.2-litre twin-turbocharged V8 diesel engine, it produces 381 hp, delivering 850 Newton metres of torque. This will propel the Cayenne from 0-62 mph in a respectable 5.7 seconds and then on to a top speed of 157 mph.
It features auto start/stop to aid fuel consumption and emissions - According to Porsche you should expect 34 mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 are recorded at 218 g/km. The potential range from the 100 litre fuel tank is 745 miles, although it will cost currently just under £150 to fill.
The Cayenne S Diesel features Porsche’s Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive system. Which under normal conditions powers the rear-wheels. When needed torque is automatically directed to the front wheels precisely according to the driving situation to improve stability and traction. The optional Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) further hones this dynamic performance.
Standard equipment on the Cayenne S Diesel includes Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive, leather interior, dual-zone automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, audio system with seven-inch touch-screen, eight-way powered front seat adjustment, front and rear electric windows, 18” alloy wheels, a 100-litre fuel tank and a three-year warranty.
