The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS has gone on sale priced from £131,296 with first car arriving in May 2015.
The new 911 GT3 RS is powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine developing 500 hp and 460 Nm of torque via a seven-speed PDK transmission. This equates to a 0-62 mph time of 3.3 seconds, 124 mph in 10.9 seconds. On the combined NEDC cycle fuel consumption is rated at 22.2 mpg.
Around the infamous 14 mile Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit it set a time of 7.20 minutes which compares the Carrera GT 7.29 minute lap time.
The GT3 RS gains the dimensions of the 911 Turbo bodyshell with wide arches to house the widest tyres of any 911 model. There are bespoke RS-specific aerodynamic body components including the spoilers, front splitters and rear wing.
Standard equipment includes bi-Xenon headlights, sports exhaust, dynamic engine mounts, 20-inch diameter front and 21-inch diameter rear centre-lock forged alloy wheels, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring plus (PTV) with rear limited slip differential plus Porsche Stability Management (PSM).
The interior is trimmed in Alcantara interior trim and there are carbon fibre ‘ sports bucket seats, CDR audio system with 7-inch colour touchscreen, universal audio interface offering MP3 connectivity, automatic climate control. You also gain the Club Sport Package with a bolted-in roll cage behind the front seats, preparation for a battery master switch, and a separately provided six-point safety harness for the driver and fire extinguisher with mounting bracket.
You can opt for the Sport Chrono Package which now includes the Porsche Track Precision app for a smartphone that uses GPS to log vehicle speed, lateral acceleration as well as acceleration and deceleration in the driving direction - and share this data with other owners.
You also benefit from Porsche’s Vehicle Tracking anti-theft system, three-year warranty and three-year roadside assistance package. You can also participate in a complimentary course at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone, should it take your fancy.
