Two new state of the art HDi diesel engines will be fitted across the Peugeot 206, 307 and 407 range. Both engines are the result of the partnership between PSA Peugeot Citroen group and the Ford Motor Company. The standard fitment of PSA Peugeot Citroen’s second-generation particulate emissions filter (FAP) also ensures that both engines easily meet the stringent Euro IV emissions standards and provide a reduction in BIK taxation of 3%.DV6 TED4 - 1.6 litre HDi 110 bhp
The all aluminium 4-cylinder engine offers high performance in terms of driving economy and respect for the environment. With a capacity of 1,560 cm3, the engine is equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger and an air / air intercooler. It develops a maximum power of 110 bhp at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 180 lb.ft at 1,750 rpm, which thanks to the "over boost" function – activated with the engine at full load between 1,500 rpm and 3,750 rpm – can provide a temporary torque increase to 192 lb.ft.
This new engine will be fitted to the new 206 GTi HDi 110 a model which will strengthen further the 206 GTi range, and become Peugeot’s first diesel powered GTi. Identifiable by a highly visible red ‘i’ in the HDi badge on the car’s front wings, it will also be the first small (B segment) car to be fitted with a particulate filter.
The 407 and 307 hatchback and estate range will also benefit from the new engine, which, in the 307 range will replace the previous 2.0 litre HDi 110 engine.DW10 BTED4 - 2.0 litre HDi 136 bhp
With a capacity of 1,997 cm3 and incorporating a 16-valve cylinder head with double overhead camshafts, it develops a maximum power of 136 bhp at 4,000 rpm, and a maximum torque of 240 lb.ft at 2,000 rpm. Due to the use of "over boost" – activated with the engine at full load between 1,500 rpm and 3,750 rpm – the available torque can be temporarily increased to 251 lb.ft. A 6-speed manual gearbox is fitted as standard to the engine, but a 4-speed "Tiptronic" automatic gearbox option is available in the 407.
Available in the 407 and in two 307 models, the sporty 307 XSi HDi and the 307 SW SE, this engine provides high performance in terms of driveability, driving economy and respect for the environment.
Both HDi engines are equipped with the latest generation high-pressure "Common Rail" injection systems with an operating pressure between 250 and 1,650 bars, according to engine load and speed. A special feature of the injection systems is the ability to manage six individual potential injection phases, to obtain maximum power and torque, reduce combustion noise and assist the regeneration of the particulate emission filter (FAP).
