To celebrate the success of the Peugeot 206 – the UK’s best selling retail car in 2002 – Peugeot has introduced ‘Verve’, a special edition of the British-built supermini.
The 206 Verve has been designed to appeal to first time buyers, or the young at heart. This well specified model features metallic paint and fog lights, air conditioning, sports front seats, as well as radio and single CD player, driver and passenger airbag, power steering, and remote control central locking as standard.
Available with Peugeot’s economical 1.1 or 1.4 litre petrol engine, the Verve 1.1 produces 60 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 70 lb ft of torque at 2,800 rpm, a top speed of 98 mph, with a combined fuel figure of 45.6 mpg and CO2 emissions of 148 g/km. The larger 1.4 engine produces 75 bhp at 5,500 rpm and 90 lb ft of torque at 2,800 rpm, a top speed of 107 mph, with a combined fuel figure of 45.6 mpg and CO2 emissions of 149 g/km.
The Verve is available in both three and five door models, in the popular colour choices of Moonstone, Aluminium, China Blue and Diablo Red with grey Zagros trim. Prices start from just £8,695 OTR for the 1.1 three door, and £9,195 for the 1.4 three door model and include 3 years of warranty cover and one year’s free insurance (subject to terms and conditions).
