The new Peugeot 807, which has set new standards for safety, comfort and practicality, has been rewarded with a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating in recognition of its outstanding safety features.
"This result is a clear illustration of the importance Peugeot places on producing stylish vehicles with class leading safety", said Christian Géraud, newly appointed managing director of Peugeot Motor Company Plc. He continued: "The high level of safety achieved by the Peugeot 807 highlights the degree of consideration given from the outset to the issue of protecting the occupants. Consequently, the 807 finds itself the leader within the segment."
In order to achieve this outstanding result, the Peugeot 807 has been engineered to incorporate extremely high levels of both active and passive safety features. Key elements such as the rigid body structure incorporating programmed distortion zones combine with the seats that are all fitted with inertia seat belts with three point fixings. Crucially, the 807 also incorporates six additional airbags, including two curtain airbags designed to protect the heads of passengers in all three rows of seats - a world first when the vehicle was launched in 2002.
Active safety features include an outstanding chassis that boasts the latest electronic control systems; anti-lock brakes, electronic stability programme, electronic brake force distribution and emergency brake assist all feature as standard equipment.
