For the first half of 2011, Peugeot's global sales reached 1,091,000 units, with the proportion of sales outside of Europe increased from 41 to 44 per cent compared to the same period in 2010.
In Latin America, sales rose to 89,605 vehicles with a market share of 3.4 per cent. In China, nearly 81,000 vehicles were sold following the success of the Peugeot 408 which was launched in 2010, growth in the market rose from 9 per cent in 2010 to 17 per cent.
In a European car and light commercial vehicle market, Peugeot retained 4th position from 2010 with a 7.45% market share.
In the Western Europe market, France saw sales of 220,940 vehicles and an 18 per cent rise in the new car market share.
Peugeot came out on top for new car registrations in May and June in the Netherlands.
