The all-new Peugeot 308 is set to go on sale in the UK from January 2014.
It will face its premier at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show on 10th September 2013, with mainland European sales shortly afterwards. It will be French built at the Peugeot's Sochaux plant with the Trmery and Douvrin sites supplying all of the engines.
As you would expect the new Peugeot 308 will feature the latest technology, including for the majority of the models full-LED headlights and LED rearlights. On the inside there is a new 9.7-inch touch-screen interface, which removes much of the need for physical buttons and switches.
Peugeot have designed the interior around what they are calling their innovative i-cockpit design which helps the driver to focus on the road rather than the interior with a head-up instrument layout.
The new Peugeot 308 is about weight saving, with a reduction of some 140kg over the current model and is based on the new EMP2 platform. Peugeot has filed 116 patent applications centred on the new platform which help to contribute to the weight reduction.
Peugeot are promising a model with CO2 emissions of 85 g/km which will give the competition a new benchmark to exceed in this segment.
