Prices have been announced for the new Nissan Micra DIG-S (Direct Injection Gasoline - Supercharged) offering high performance and low emissions.
The new Nissan Micra DIG-S is powered by a 1.2 litre three cylinder supercharged petrol engine, with emissions of 95g/km for the Visia version and 99g/km for the Acenta and Tekna models. Respective fuel consumption is 68.9mpg and 65.7mpg on the combined cycle. Power rises from 80PS to 98PS.
In order to achieve the improved fuel efficiency, featured technologies include direct injection, valve timing control with eco mode, improved exhaust gas recirculation, specially shaped pistons and a higher compression ratio.
To reduce inefficient power loss within the engine operating system the Miller Cycle is incorporated. By allowing the inlet valve to stay open longer, along with a higher compression ratio, the compression stroke becomes more efficient.
An intelligent alternator helpes to save energy by recharging the battery when engine power is not in demand such as during braking. Stop/start technology also helps to reduce emissions and fuel consumption by switching off the engine automatically when the Nissan Micra DIG-S is stationary and will restart the engine when the driver wishes to move off. In the Tekna model, the CO2 saved during stop/start is displayed on the dashboard.
The Nissan Micra DIG-S is avaulable with a 5 speed manual as standard, or for £1000, an advanced CVT automatic gearbox.
The insurance group for the new Nissan Micra DIG-S is 8E for the Visia and 9E for the Acenta and Tekan models on the the Association of British Insurers (ABI) 50 group rating system.New Nissan Micra DIG-S Prices
