Nissan plans to make the Nissan LEAF the fastest car ever to drive up the Goodwood Hill backwards!
The Nissan LEAF's electrical powertrain can theoretically allow it to be driven backwards as fast it can go forwards, unlike petrol powered cars which are limited to low speeds by their reverse gear. Potentially, the Nissan LEAF can drive in reverse at a top speed of 90mph.
Alongside the attempt, the Nissan Juke will attempt a two-wheeled drive record up the Goodwood Hill, making the Juke the fastest four-wheeled machine to climb the hill on just two wheels.
Professional stunt driver, Terry Grant, will be the man attempting to set the records in the LEAF and Juke by performing the stunts once every day he said: "I've experienced Goodwood before but never attempted to set a new record. To have the chance to grab not only one but two records at the same event will hopefully provide everyone with a very entertaining spectacle."
