The new G-Wiz electric car from GoinGreen is both the cheapest and the greenest car available in Britain. Now, for the first time, commuters and city drivers can not only afford to go green, they will save a lot of money by doing so.
Launched last summer in the London area, the G-Wiz is totally emission-free, saving between one and three tonnes of CO2 per year versus polluting internal combustion engine (ICE) cars, making it by far the greenest car on the road. It is also the lowest total cost of ownership and the cheapest car to run: electricity is less than 1p a mile (equivalent to around 600 miles per gallon!), it is in the lowest insurance group, and is exempt from road tax. For Londoners, the G-Wiz is also exempt from the Congestion Charge and can be parked free in central London car parks, on meters and pay and display bays, worth up to an amazing ?600 per month.
Ideal for city commuting and frequent short trips, the G-Wiz has four seats (room for two adults plus two small children) making it perfect for school runs, trips to the shops, evenings out or for going from meeting to meeting. The back seats can also be folded down to create storage space with extra storage space under the bonnet. It is available in 10 standard colours but there is a choice of over 2,000 for those that want something unique. Recharging the G-Wiz is as simple as with a mobile phone; it is just plugged into a normal electrical socket* and one charge allows for approximately 40 miles of driving at up to 40mph. Given that the average city journey is only four miles and the urban speed limit does not exceed 40mph, this is more than adequate. The G-Wiz’s nippy acceleration easily keeps up with urban traffic.
For environmentally-conscious drivers concerned about global climate change, air pollution and the rising cost of motoring, the zero-emission G-Wiz is a great city run-around. And, if it is recharged using one of the green electricity supplies such as juice from npower or Good Energy, it is a totally sustainable product.
"I have now had my G-Wiz for a year and use it every day for business, pleasure and taking my kids to school. I love the fact that it’s green and saves me money. I would not drive anything else in London and every time I drive my G-Wiz it puts a smile on my face." Daniel Englander, London.
GoinGreen’s G-Wiz is the first mass-produced emission-free electric car available to buy or lease in the UK. It uses technology developed by AEV in California and is manufactured by the Reva Electric Car Company in Bangalore. List price is ?7,599, but at the moment, the car is priced at ?6,999 and includes free leather seats and alloy wheels worth an additional ?299. Credit terms are available and a G-Wiz can be leased for ?149 per month which, when the recently-announced Congestion Charge increase comes into force in July, will cost less than the Congestion Charge monthy . The G-Wiz can only be purchased on-line via the GoinGreen website www.goingreen.co.uk , which contains everything one could wish to know about the car, and the financial and environmental savings. London test drives can also be booked on-line.
