With the UK overall passenger car market showing a 5% increase, Mitsubishi achieved 35.7% increase for the month. This figure does not include Mitsubishi’s market leading Double Cab range with L200 sales totalling 420 for the month and 3,256 year to date.
Mitsubishi’s total sales, cars and LCV, for May 2002 were 2,018 units, a 39.3% increase over May last year.
Sales of the Colt Hatchback, Carisma, Shogun, Shogun Sport and L200 all exceeded their sales target for the month. Sales of the Shogun Family vehicles recorded an increase of 26.2% over May 2001
With aggressive pricing, added value specification, easy, flexible and low cost finance available, 88.8% of Mitsubishi sales during May were to retail customers and for the year so far, retail sales account for 89.5% of all registrations.
Year to date Mitsubishi total sales are 10,743 units an increase of 14.1% over the same five months last year, with retail sales recording a 36.9% increase.
