Mitsubishi Motors in the UK have confirmed the opening of a new dealership in Dursley on 1st July; Millwood Mitsubishi is situated at Mill Garage in Draycott, Cam, Glos.
The new dealership will provide Mitsubishi Sales and service for an area east of the River Severn, from the northern boundaries of Bristol to the southern outskirts of Gloucester, encompassing the towns of: Stroud, Tetbury, Wooton-Under-Edge and Dursley.
Established in 1984, in Woodmancote, on the other side of Dursley, the business was previously involved with other manufacturers franchises until 1996. In 1999, the Cam site was purchased and, following considerable investment to refurbish the premises, the association with Mitsubishi marks a new era for the business.
In addition to promoting the full range of Mitsubishi cars, MPVs, pick-ups and the acclaimed 4x4 Shogun models, Millwood will also be able to offer their customers extensive after sales facilities, which include: sales of Mitsubishi parts and accessories, servicing and MOT testing.
The dealership is also to be designated as a ‘Red Zebra’ location, Mitsubishi UK¹s brand which markets quality checked and warranteed used vehicles.
With no other major franchise dealers in the area, Managing Director, Jon Vicker, is confident that the introduction of Mitsubishi will prove to be a successful alliance:
"The association with a brand as strong as Mitsubishi brings a great deal of credibility to our business. We see excellent opportunities for Mitsubishi sales, especially the Shogun range, as this is mainly a rural area. We already have a loyal customer base and are delighted that we can now offer them such wide range of vehicles."
The appointment of Millwood brings the number of Mitsubishi dealers in Britain up to 132 - the highest for ten years. This figure also signifies a further step towards the UK importer¹s goal to establish 140 sites by the end of 2002.
