Mitsubishi Motors in the UK have appointed a new dealership in the Shetland Islands, North Road Mitsubishi of Lerwick.
This latest addition to Mitsubishi’s national dealer network will provide Mitsubishi sales, service and parts for all the Shetland Islands.
The business was started in 1983 in Lerwick and took on its first franchise in 1992, with a second a year later. In 1999 a further site was established in Elgin and in 2000 the Lerwick operation expanded with a second premises in North Road.
The company is proud of the reputation it has established over its 20 years of operation and to this day remains a family run business.
In addition to promoting the full range of Mitsubishi cars, MPVs, pick-ups and the acclaimed 4x4 Shogun models, North Road Mitsubishi will also be able to offer its customers extensive after sales facilities, which include; modern workshops, sales of Mitsubishi parts and accessories, MOT testing and a 24 hour break-down service with its newly acquired recovery vehicle.
During 2003 the dealership is to become a designated ‘Red Zebra’ location, Mitsubishi UK’s brand which markets quality checked and warranted used vehicles.
"We are delighted to take on the franchise and bring Mitsubishi back to the Shetland Islands for the first time since 1994", said Managing Director, Jim Manson. "We are confident that we will see good sales of the cars, especially the L200 pick ups and the Shogun range."
The appointment of North Road Garage brings the number of Mitsubishi dealers in Britain up to 140 - the highest number of sites for ten years.
