Mitsubishi Motors in the UK have confirmed the appointment of a new dealership in Ipswich. Hadleigh Mitsubishi opened their doors for the sale and servicing of all Mitsubishi vehicles on Monday 20th January.
Situated on the Ransomes Europark, this latest addition to Mitsubishi’s nationwide dealer network provides Mitsubishi sales, service and parts for most of the Suffolk area.
Since the company was established in 1991, by partners John East and Garry Harris, Hadleigh’s growth has been a real success story.
The business began in Southend with a franchise for another manufacturer. A second site was then opened during 1995 in Chelmsford and in 1997 the company took on a further franchise, doubling its number of sites.
Hadleigh increased its amount of locations to five when it purchased the two-acre Ipswich premises in May of last year and now expands further with the introduction of Mitsubishi.
Developments to accommodate Mitsubishi at the company’s Ransomes Europark site include a redesigned showroom and an extensive parts department, which will service both trade and consumer markets. The premises also include a modern workshop featuring the latest in high-tech equipment.
Hadleigh’s association with Mitsubishi, and the subsequent developments taking place on the Ipswich site, has created a number of new jobs for the town.
The dealership is also designated a ‘Red Zebra’ location; Mitsubishi UK’s brand, which markets quality checked and warranted, used vehicles.
"We are delighted to be appointed as Mitsubishi dealers for the Suffolk area, especially at the start of 2003 when there are so many exciting things happening with Mitsubishi", said Dealer Principal, Andy Munro. "Mitsubishi’s cars, pick-ups, MPV’s and acclaimed Shogun models provide us with an excellent range of vehicles which will appeal to our customers."
The appointment of Hadleigh’s brings the number of Mitsubishi dealers in Britain up to 140 - the highest number of sites for ten years.
