Mitsubishi has revealed that their May 2011 sales figures are up 82 per cent compared tot he same period last year - the total UK vehicle market shows a 2 per cent decline.
Total passenger car sales for May 2010 were 489 for Mitsubishi, however in 2011 the figure is 888, an increase of 399 units. The Mitsubishi Shogun saw a 34% increase over the same period with Lancer registrations increased by 94%.
The "Intelligent Motion" range, which includes the Mitsubishi ASX and Outlander crossover vehicles are outselling expectations. Sales of the Mitsubishi Outlander increased by 195% compared to the same time last year, 11% of which comes form the new 2WD model.
Mitsubishi Motors in the UK's Managing Director, Lance Bradley said: "This was a very strong month for Mitsubishi Motors in the UK and is another piece of good news for us and our dealer network. We have more new low-emissions products coming soon and a very stable and profitable dealer network, so all the signs are good for a continued successful future."
