The Hertz Company and Mitsubishi have signed an agreement in the UK to add the Mitsubishi i-MiEV to Hertz fleets and car sharing club Connect by Hertz. As of today, two Mitsubishi i-MiEVs will be available for Connect by Hertz members to use around London. Hertz is planning to add more i-MiEVs to its fleets across the UK during 2011.

Customers will be able to charge their vehicles at Hertz charging stations located throughout the capital as well as Heathrow and London City Airport. Customers also have access to the Source London public charging points, which are being rolled out across London by 2013.

The Mitsubishi i-MiEV is small enough to be able to park in small urban car parking spaces and yet has enough space to seat for adults. It offers a range of over 90 miles, and via a quick charging unit can be charged up to 50% in 30 minutes or fully charged overnight using a normal 3 pin domestic plug socket.

The Mitsubishi i-MiEV was the first mass-produced fully electric vehicle to markets and was involved in official government trials since December 2009. On sale since August 2010, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV was the world's first pure-EV to receive the Euro NCAP 4 star rating.
