You will be able to order the new Mercedes Benz CLS Shooting Brake from mid-September with first deliveries expected in November 2012.
The CLS Shooting Brake creates a new sector – it combines a 5-seater estate with the sleekness of a coupe, yet is capable of carrying 1,550-litres of cargo which is faciliatated by a powered tailgate, split/fold rear seats and self-levelling rear air suspension. As standard you also benefit from Easy-Pack Quickfold rear seat adjustment and the Easy-Pack load compartment cover.
There are two model lines – the CLS Shooting Brake, starting at £49,360 for the CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY model and the CLS AMG Sport Shooting Brake at £83,030.
The CLS Shooting Brake is available with two different deiesel engine options – a 204hp 2143cc 4-Clyinder and a 265hp 2987cc 6-Cylinder unit. The CLS AMG Sport Shooting Brake features a 557hp 5461cc V8 petrol engine.
The CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Shooting Brake produces 204 hp, with an official combined fuel consumption of 53.3 mpg and CO2 emissions of 139 g/km. The CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Shooting Brake generates 265 hp, combined fuel consumption of 47.1 mpg, and 161 g/km CO2. The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake emits 235 g/km CO2 and offers 28 mpg.
All engines feature Mercedes 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission, as well as the ECO start/stop function.
Standard equipment levels include a Becker MAP PILOT (CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Shooting Brake) or COMAND Online multimedia system (CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Shooting Brake and CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake) and DAB; leather upholstery; Parktronic front and rear; metallic paint; Bi-Xenon headlights; and 18” alloy wheels.
For an extra £2,995 the CLS Shooting Brake AMG Sport can be specified with full LED headlights with Intelligent Light System and Adaptive Highbeam Assist; AMG bodystyling; sports suspension and brakes; sports steering wheel and pedals; and 19” AMG alloy wheels.
Optional equipment exclusive to the CLS Shooting Brake includes: Easy-Pack load-securing kit with rear sill protector (£255); privacy glass (£365); aluminium rails (£870); manually folding tow bar (£880); AirMATIC semi-active air suspension (£1,150); and the (£4,030) designo American Cherry Wood load compartment deck with black inlays which looks rather nice if not a little expensive.
