The new Mercedes Benz C-Class Coupe has gone on sale priced from £30,955, with the first cars arriving in December.
Based on the new C-Class Saloon there is a choice of four engines, there are two petrol units, C 200 184 hp and the C 300 245hp - the lower output has the option of six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmissions, where the C 300 is only available with the 7-G auto box.
If you would prefer a diesel, then you can choose between the C 220d 170 hp with the option of six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic or a C 250d which develops 204 hp and is fitted with the 9G-Tronic gearbox as standard.
There are two trim levels, Sport and AMG Line with standard equipment comprising LED headlights and tail-lights; Active Park Assist; PARKTRONIC parking sensors; a reversing camera; sports seats with ARTICO upholstery including heated front seats; 7-inch colour screen; Garmin navigation; electrically folding mirrors; and Collision Prevention Assist Plus automatic braking system. In addition the C-Class Coupe C300 comes with a standard exhaust system with switchable sound.
The Sport editions feature a gloss black interior trim with aluminium inlays in the doors, 17-inch alloy wheels and a diamond grille with black-painted pins.
Where the AMG Line is finished with a black ash wood trim, a flat bottom AMG sports steering wheel, brushed steel sports pedals and a black roof lining. The outside is blessed with an AMG bodystyling kit, 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, a diamond grille with chrome pins and 15mm lowered sports suspension.
Key options include two add on packs: Premium and Premium Plus. For an additional £1,695 you can add the Premium Package which comprises a panoramic glass roof, keyless go, seat memory package and ambient lighting or you can have the Premium Plus pack for £2,995 which adds a Burmester surround sound system and COMAND online with 8-inch screen on top.
You may also like the Driver’s Assistance Package includes DISTRONIC Plus with stop and go (adaptive cruise control); Active blind spot and lane-keeping assist, Pre-safe with pedestrian detection (anticipatory safety system) for £1,695.
If you are looking for something a little more ‘sporty’ then there is an AMG Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe (£61,160) powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine with an AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed automatic gearbox. This produces 476 hp / 650 Nm with a 0-62 mph time of 4.0 seconds or if this isn’t enough how about the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S (£66,910) the ups the ante to 510 hp /700 Nm, with 0 to 62 mph taking 3.9 seconds.
