Mercedes has released the C 63 AMG Edition 507 powered by an AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine outputting 507 hp/610 Nm, an increase of 50 hp over the standard model. This equates to a 0-62 mph time for the saloon and coupe of 4.2 seconds and the estate 4.3 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 174 mph. The C 63 AMG Edition 507 benefits from the AMG Driver’s package which also includes a voucher for attendance of a driver training session at the AMG Driving Academy.
The official combined fuel consumption figures are reported as 23.5 mpg for the saloon and coupe with estate recording 23.1 mpg. CO2 emissions are 280 g/km and 285 g/km respectively. The C 63 AMG Edition 507 features as does the standard model with AMG’s SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission.
Mercedes have used technology found on the SLS AMG to help boost the C 63 AMG Edition 507 performance including the forged pistons, connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft. An AMG high-performance composite braking system with red brake callipers is fitted as standard.
In order to distinguish the C 63 AMG Edition 507 from the standard model, Mercedes have characterised it by a host of exclusive design features: New AMG light-alloy cross-spoke wheels with tyres in sizes 235/35 R 19 (front) and 255/30 R 19 (rear). Two openings in the distinctive aluminium bonnet designed to help with expelling engine heat. The spoiler lip on the boot lid (Saloon and Coupé only), the exterior mirror housings, as well as the surrounds on the radiator grille and daytime driving lights are all finished in high-gloss black and darkened headlamps. Plus you can exclusively opt for designo Magno Platinum paint finish.
The interior features an AMG instrument cluster; red applications serve to visually differentiate this variant from the other C 63 AMG models. According to Mercedes the trim in high-gloss Black Piano Lacquer look and the "Edition 507" badge on the trim on the front passenger side round off the high-quality, exclusive interior.
Prices for the C 63 AMG Edition 507 range have yet to be confirmed for the UK.
