The £176,000 McLaren MP4-12C gets an extra 25Ps taking the power of the V8 engine to 625ps (616hp).
The 0-62 mph remains the same at 3.1 seconds but the standard ¼ mile run 10.6 sec @ 136 mph, lower output time was 10.7 seconds and 135 mph. The top speed sees a gain of 2 mph to 207 mph.

The redesigned engine mapping has not altered the efficiency of the M838T engine, with 12C CO2 emissions remaining at 279 g/km, and fuel economy officially recorded at 24.2 mpg (combined).

For 2013 then driver will be able select the level of engine noise delivered via an electronic menu accessible via the instrument cluster. The Intake Sound Generator (ISG) controls engine intake noise within the cabin at differing levels, depending on the Powertrain mode selected for the car (Normal, Sport and Track).
Vehicle Lift will be available as an option on 2013 model year vehicles which allows the 12C to be raised front and rear for improved ground clearance. This technology permits the vehicle to be raised by up to 40mm at the front and 25mm at the rear, and may remain in position at up to 37 mph.
