The new Mazda CX-5 will be fitted as standard with ‘Smart City Brake Support’ (SCBS), which helps a driver to avoid a frontal collision when driving at low speeds in the city or in slow moving traffic.
When driving at speeds between 2.5 and 19mph, the SCBS system uses a laser to sense a vehicle or obstruction in front of the Mazda CX-5 and if the driver fails to take action, the SCBS automatically activates the brakes and reduces the engine output at the same time.
