The Mazda CX-5 compact crossover SUV will have its world premiere at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show on 13th September 2011. The Mazda CX-5 is the first of Mazda's new generation of products featuring SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and the new design theme 'KODO - Soul of Motion'.
Developed around the full range of SKY ACTIV TECHNOLOGY, the Mazda CX-5 includes all new petrol and diesel engines, manual and automatic transmissions, body and chassis which provides accurate handling and a high quality ride alongside high environmental credentials and advanced safety features.
For Europe, the Mazda CX-5's engine line-up includes the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 petrol engine and SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel egine, available in Standard Power and High Power versions. Each engine has a compression ratio of 14:1. The SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel negine offers CO2 emissions under 120g/km.
'KODO - Soul of Motion' will also be showcased for the first time with the Mazda CX-5. Previewed on the Mazda SHINARI and Mazda MINAGI concept cars, the KODO deisgn theme features a new frontal treatment with a bolder Mazda family face and more dynamic styling.
The upgraded Mazda3 will join the Mazda CX-5 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, offering lower CO2 emissions, improved driving dynamics, updated interior and exterior desifgn and higher levels of quality.
