Mazda has become the Official Vehicle Partner for Ulster Rugby. The three year sponsorship agreement with see Mazda UK supply the Club's players and staff with cars and will involve joint marketing between Mazda dealers and the Ulster Branch's 55 affiliated rugby clubs. All home matches at the Ravenhill Grounds in Belfast will see Mazda advertising with pitch-side advertising and product placement.
Ulster Rugby Club will be competing in the Heineken Cup and RaboDirect PRO12. jared Payne from New Zealand, the Club's newest signing, was the first player to receive a new Mazda6 2.2 Diesel Sport Estate. The Club will receive further Mazda models throughout the season.
Ulster's Director of Rugby, David Humphreys, said, "We've had a good start to the season so far and we’ve got high hopes that we can continue to make significant progress over last season. Mazda shares our aspirations of being best-in-class and we are very pleased with the sponsorship agreement. It is an energetic and ambitious brand with fantastic products and we're glad of their support, especially over the next few years as we strive for success in both the Heineken Cup and RaboDirect PRO12."
Mazda is currently preparing to launch its sixth generation model range in 2012. Each new model will boast Mazda's SKYACTIV Technology delivering class-leading fuel consumption and significantly lower CO2 emissions.

Mazda Ireland has also recently announced a sponsorship agreement for three years, with Connacht - Ulster's RaboDirect PRO12 opponents.
