Summer comes early with a bright new colour option for the Lexus IS200 Sport. A strictly limited number of Lexus’s compact sports saloon are being made available in blazing Amarillo yellow.
The car’s unmissable sunshine paint finish echoes the warm climate of the Texas town, which sits astride America’s historic Route 66.
The IS200 offers a rewarding driving experience with its rear-wheel drive, perfectly balanced chassis and double wishbone suspension. Examples of the IS200 Sport which feature the stand-out-from-the-crowd colour also benefit from a limited-slip differential and a subtle body kit comprising rear bootlid spoiler, side skirts and front apron spoiler. The sporting look is completed by lowered suspension, dark-tinted rear windows and 18-inch six spoke alloy wheels.
The standard Sport specification also includes close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox, climate control, electric tilt/slide sunroof, heated front seats, eight speaker sound system with in-dash six-disc CD autochanger, drilled aluminium pedals, stainless steel scuff plates, steering wheel trimmed in two-tone leather and electrically adjustable front seats with leather facings.
Front, side and curtain airbags are fitted, along with five three-point seatbelts. Active safety elements include ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and switchable Traction Control (TRC).
The Limited Edition IS200 Amarillo is priced from £21,205 on the road including the Sport body kit representing a saving of £2,070 over an IS200 Sport model with body kit.
The 153bhp six-cylinder 2.0-litre VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing – intelligent) engine in the IS200 will accelerate from rest to 62mph in 9.5 seconds and achieve, where permissible, a top speed of 134mph. The car is covered by Lexus’s three-year/60,000 miles mechanical warranty, 12-year anti-corrosion and three-year paintwork warranties.
