Land Rover has introduced a number of updates to the 2015 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models, which go on sale on the 16th July 2014.
The 4.4-litre 339PS SDV8 engine which is available with both models has been revised to produce an extra 40Nm of torque, which now stands at 740Nm between 1,700 and 3,300 rpm. This has improved in-gear acceleration by up to 6.5% from fifth to eighth gear. The ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic gearbox has been re-engineered with a revised torque converter incorporating a twin-spring damper. There is no change to the fuel consumption or CO2 emissions, which according to official NEDC figures remain at 32.5 mpg and 229 g/km.
The Land Rover InControl Remote and InControl Secure are now standard on the 2015 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport editions.
The InControl Remote includes an integrated SOS Emergency Call, Optimised Land Rover Assistance and a Smartphone App that allows you to remotely connect remotely to your car. InControl Secure tracks the vehicle should it be stolen.
InControl Apps and InControl Wi-Fi are new to the Range Rover line-up, InControl Apps allows owners to sync smartphone apps to the vehicle's touchscreen, and is compatible with Apple and Android smartphones.
InControl Wi-Fi provides instant in-car access to a mobile hotspot which allows up to eight devices to be used simultaneously. The system provides superior signal quality compared to an independent smartphone hotspot using the customer's existing data plan through a duplicate SIM card.
The colour palette for 2015 Range Rover has been enhanced with the introduction of Aruba silver and Kaikoura Stone paint finishes.
There is now an intelligent cargo mode that automatically moves the front seats forward should the rear seats make contact with them when lowering them to increase the cargo space.
From August this year you will able to order the Range Rover Autobiography Black Long Wheel Base edition, which is the pinnacle luxury. Apart from the increase in rear leg-room the model includes the Executive Class package, which offers two individual fully adjustable seats and a re-designed extended centre console with electrically deployable leather tables, integrated USB charging sockets, enhanced stowage and bespoke lighting.
The Autobiography Black is only available in Long Wheel Base format and includes the option of an exclusive new Lunar/Cirrus interior colour combination. Autobiography Black signature details include additional leather trim, Santorini Black and Bright Chrome exterior trim, LED tail lamps, bespoke 21- and 22-inch alloy wheel designs, new seating options with Semi-Aniline leather and customer-configurable mood lighting.
There has been a revision to the exterior paint choices for the 2015 Sport models, including the introduction of Aruba silver. Plus the roof and door sills can now finished in the body colour or contrasting black.
