You now order the Land Rover Discovery Sport with the 2.0-litre Ingenium Diesel Engine with deliveries starting in September 2015.
The new Euro6 compliant 2.0-litre Ingenium TD4 Diesel Engine is available with two power outputs, 150PS and 180PS. According to Land Rover the 150PS derivative with five seat configuration is capable of up to 57.7mpg with CO2 emissions from 129g/km. Where the TD4 180PS in its standard 5+2 configuration can deliver up to 53.3 mpg on the combined cycle with emissions of 139g/km. These engines will currently be the only diesel offering for the Discovery Sport.
The lower output TD4 150PS will be designated an ‘E-Capability’ vehicle, with a blue ‘Sport’ badge highlighting the most efficient variant. These vehicles will also feature 18-inch wheels with low rolling resistance tyres. The final drive gearing and engine calibrations have been optimised to provide the lowest possible CO2 for the vehicle. E-Capability introduces a five seat option in the UK for the first time, with all TD4 180PS variants remaining with 5+2 seating as standard.
Prices will stay the same with the introduction of the new TD4 150PS engine bringing the entry price for the Discovery Sport down to £30,695 for the manual five seater ‘SE’ trim. Service intervals have been increased from 16,000 miles to 21,000 miles to help with the running costs.
