Surely the most decorated SUV ever, the Land Rover Discovery 4 has scooped yet another award, being named 'Best Luxury 4x4' in the inaugural CarBuyer awards.
The supremely versatile seven-seat Land Rover Discovery 4 features a powerful and highly efficient TDV6 3.0 litre diesel engine, fresh exterior identity and a premium cabin. The latest technologies such as Terrain Response offer class-leading dynamics both on and off-road.
The CarBuyer awards judging panel reviewed and rated every new model on sale, focusing on performance, safety, running costs, mpg and overall customer satisfaction and reliability. The Land Rover Discovery was a runaway success as Dan Strong, editor, commented: "Our panel of judges was blown away by the Land Rover's ability to turn its hand to anything. The Discovery 4 takes everything from muddy fields to posh hotel car parks in its stride - and everything in between. Its huge boot, punchy diesel engine and spacious seven-seat cabin tick almost every box."
"Is it an off-roader? Is it an MPV? Or is it a luxury car? Yes, yes and yes, because the Discovery 4 is a car with many talents. It is unbeatable off-road and refined and comfortable on it, while few purpose-built people carriers offer so much interior space and flexibility. The allure of the Land Rover badge and high quality cabin take care of the rest."
The award was presented to Dr Ralf Speth, chief executive officer Jaguar Land Rover, Gerry McGovern, design director and John Edwards global brand director, Land Rover at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
