Kia have confirmed that there will be two new ‘GT’ cee'd models on sale from mid-2013, they will be the three-door Kia pro_cee'd GT and the five-door Kia cee'd GT.
Both models will be powered by Kia’s 1.6 GDI petrol turbocharged engine which outputs 201 hp, delivering 265Nm of torque. This should equate to a 0-62 mph time of 7.9 seconds via the six-speed manual gearbox. The chassis and suspension will be re-worked over the standard car to ensure a more performance orientated set-up.
Although at this stage the ‘GT’ models are promising to be more ‘warm’ than ‘hot’, they will feature Recaro sports seats and the obligatory alloy pedals, with 18” alloys and red brake calipers. Styling includes distinctive four-point LED daytime running lights and special paint finishes.
We will of course bring you more information near the launch date, with full specifications and prices.
