As the red carpet rolls out in preparation for the glamorous Orange British Academy Film Awards, one of the most exclusive and most talked about parties of the Film Season opens its door in celebration of the British Film Industry.
The London Party, hosted by United International Pictures, Variety Magazine and Steinmetz diamonds, will be at held at the grand Middle Temple Hall today. Jaguar Cars will add to the Britishness of the occasion by supplying a fleet of cars to chauffeur the celebrity guests in style.
The event will be attended by many of the A list celebrities who are in town to celebrate the BAFTA Awards. It takes something special to impress this calibre of Hollywood stars and personalities, and that something is the diamond encrusted ' Jaguar-Steinmetz' car. Donated by Jaguar Cars in association with The Steinmetz Group, this unique XK8 sports convertible is encrusted with two brilliant Sunexis-cut 1 carat diamonds fitted on the walnut facia on each side of the navigation system, a sill insert with 'Jaguar- Steinmetz' on the tread plate, and a special ' Jaguar- Steinmetz' gear knob and chrome pedals. The Steinmetz Group, famed for their expert cutting and polishing of large and rare diamonds, are delighted to be once again collaborating with Jaguar, to create such a spectacular one-off luxury car. *
Adding even further to the glamour of the London Party with timeless beauty, precision and desire, the "Jaguar-Steinmetz" XK8 sports convertible will be auctioned in aid of The Elton John Aids Foundation and will be supplied to either USA or UK specification. The value of the car alone is £60,000 and the insurance value of the two diamonds combined is in excess of £20,000. The successful bidder will have a very Happy Valentines Day and the Elton John Aids Foundation will benefit from a large donation !
