Despite Jaguar’s decision to withdraw from Formula One Racing at the end of the 2004 season, the Company has confirmed its continuing commitment to the 2004/5 Jaguar F1 in Schools CAD CAM Challenge.
A Jaguar spokesman said: "Although we have maintained a relationship with Jaguar Racing over the last four years to promote the UK national schools’ CAD CAM competition, we must emphasise that the competition is very much part of a Jaguar Cars-sponsored community education programme, helping to promote engineering and manufacturing as an exciting future career choice at schools."
The JAGUAR F1 TEAM IN SCHOOLS COMPETITION supports the National Curriculum and the government’s CAD CAM initiative to schools.
"Despite the recent announcements at Jaguar, we see no change to our support of F1 in Schools, as its premier sponsor, or to other community related programmes including Jaguar Education Business Partnership Centres."
