Philip Porter, the Montagu Trophy winning Jaguar author and founder of the International Jaguar XK Club, has today announced plans to launch a dedicated club for Jaguar E-TYPE owners around the world – The Jaguar E-TYPE Club.
Porter, the owner of 9600 HP, the oldest and most historic E-TYPE and 848 CRY, the roadster which appeared in the cult movie The Italian Job, hopes to bring the same formula that has made the XK Club such a success (no committees/no politics) to the world of E-TYPEs. The Jaguar E-TYPE Club will, therefore, be dedicated to celebrating all aspects of this fantastic 60s icon and the common denominator of all activities will be style!
One of the primary benefits of membership will be automatic subscription to The E-TYPE - a professionally produced, monthly magazine, edited by Philip. The E-TYPE will contain a range of E-TYPE related stories including features from around the world, event reports, historic articles, restoration articles, race reports, product news, profiles and technical advice from noted Jaguar specialists.
E-TYPE Club members will be invited to participate in a varied programme of international events from tours to track days, weekend gatherings to charity shows, technical briefings to social dinners. The first international E-TYPE Tour of France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany has already been planned for May 2005.
Members will also enjoy a range of discounts from prominent classic car specialists, plus limited edition merchandise and publishing offers.
All those who join before the end of 2004, will be known as Founder Members.
