Jaguar X-Type

The City of London hosted an extraordinary production at Broadgate's winter ice rink – and the star attraction – two cool Jaguar X-TYPE's.

Built to handle the iciest conditions with four wheel drive traction fitted as standard on its 2.5 litre and 3.0 litre derivatives – the Jaguar X-TYPE's were the focal point for a specially choreographed performance by professional ice skaters.

The Jaguar X-TYPE features Jaguar’s Traction-4 full-time all-wheel drive system for positive and sure-footed road holding in all conditions. Sixty per cent of torque is directed to the rear wheels, reinforcing the sporting character of the new Jaguar saloon. A viscous coupling senses differences in speed between the front and rear wheels. If wheel slip is detected, torque is transferred via the viscous coupling to the front or rear wheels, providing optimum traction and stability.

Inside, traditional craftsmanship is complemented by technological innovation, such as the optional touch-screen multimedia system, while the car's practical strengths include generous space for occupants and luggage, as well as comprehensive safety and security equipment.

"With Britain's ever changing weather conditions – be it ice, snow, rain or sun – the Jaguar X-TYPE delivers the smoothest performance throughout the seasons," adds, Ian Major, Jaguar's UK Operations Marketing Director. "The X-TYPE’s nimble driving dynamics reward the enthusiast, as well as reassuring the everyday driver."

The roadshow will make a whistlestop tour of the UK with the Jaguar X-TYPE's on show at Sheffield Ski Village from Saturday 7 December for 7 days, Milton Keynes Snowdome Xscape from December 18-23, and in the New Year the special ice show will be performed at Gunwharf Quay, Portsmouth from January 2-5 and moves to Breahead Shopping Centre, Glasgow from January 8-12.
