The new mid-sized Jaguar will be called the XE and will take the fight for the best compact executive saloon direct to the doors of the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series.
The Jaguar XE will be the first aluminium monocoque offering in the segment and will feature a variety of engines including Jaguar's new Ingenium engines in four-cylinder two-litre petrol and diesel variants.
There will be both rear and all-wheel drive models - and we can expect to see CO2 emissions below 100 g/km for some models and range topping top speed of 186 mph
Full technical details and along with prices will be with us towards the end of 2014, the Jaguar XE will go on sale in 2015 from around £25,000.
