The new Jaguar XE will go on sale on the 2nd October 2015 priced from £26,995 for the entry level 2.0d 200PS ‘SE Auto’ edition. The top-of-the-range is the 3.0i S/C 340PS ‘S’ which will cost £44,870 and is capable of 0-62 mph in 5.1 seconds.
There is a choice of five engines, two diesel (2.0d 163PS or 2.0d 180PS) and three petrol (2.0i 200PS, 2.0i 240PS or the six-cylinder 3.0i 340PS). The two diesel units are available with six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmissions - the rest come with auto boxes - all sending power to the rear-wheels. The 2.0d 163PS is according to NEDC figures capable of 75 mpg on the combined cycle with emissions 99 g/km - making it the most efficient Jaguar to date.
At launch there will be five trim levels, ‘SE’, ‘Prestige’, ’R-Sport’, ‘Portfolio’, and the top-of-the range ‘S’.
Core equipment on the entry level model includes cloth seats, satellite navigation, cruise control, 17” alloy wheels, DAB digital radio and multi-function steering wheel.
The Prestige gains, heated front seats, Taurus leather upholstery with contrasting stitching and Phosphor Blue ambient lighting.
The R-Sport features Taurus leather upholstery, rear spoiler, sports suspension, bi-xenon headlamps with LED signature DRLs and two-tone 18” alloy wheels (except on 163PS models)
Comes with premium soft leather seating, Meridian audio system, 10 way electric front seats, Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED day running lights and 18” alloy wheels (except on 163PS engines).
The Jaguar XE ‘S’ is powered by a supercharged 3.0-litre petrol engine producing 340PS / 450 NM which equates to 0-62 mph time of 5.1 seconds and a limited top speed of 155 mph. On the combined cycle fuel consumption is recorded at 34.9 mpg with emissions of 194 g/km.
Standard Equipment includes ‘a race inspired interior’ comprising Taurus heated leather seats, leather sports steering wheel, and a revised front bumper to allow for air intakes for the supercharger. The side sills are extended; there is a rear spoiler, red brake calipers and bi-xenon headlights with LED day running lights. It also is equipped with Meridian audio, keyless entry and a powered boot lid.
Options include Meridian Audio, InControl infotainment system, semi-automated park-assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and traffic sign recognition.
