Infiniti will unveil the Infiniti Digital Art Competition gallery on 4th October 2011, including the best 32 images created by artists during the 'Inspired Performance' theme of the three year long free to enter international contest. The individual pieces can be views at Infiniti's website.
All featured artwork in the virtual exhibition has been shortlisted from more than 500 submissions by participants during the opening three months of the competition by a team of experts from competition host, designboom, the online art, architecture, and design magazine, and Senior Directors of Infiniti Europe. Candidates were required to clearly demonstrate within the piece the Infiniti Japanese DNA as well as an image from the Infiniti range.
Included in the works online are the six finalists selected by the 'Inspired Performance' theme jury of recognised influencers from design. The creations will be presented at the launches of the new Infiniti Centres in Stockport and Leeds.
Birgit Lohmann, Editor-in-Chief, and Co-Founder of designboom says: "The final selection of art which we have put forward captures the imagination and ‘out of the box’ thinking that we have witnessed in the entries that were brought to our attention. It has been a privilege to bring outstanding illustrations of raw talent from across the globe to the forefront of the public eye during this very exciting project."
Adrian Newey, Chief Technical Officer of Red Bull Racing explains: "Design in Formula One requires creativity and innovation in order to develop new and original designs, and this is what we looked for in the entries to the Digital Art Competition." Adrian adds: "Picking the winners has been a great process and it's always inspiring to see so many unique examples of personal expression from across the globe."
Yeoh Guan Hong, Co-Founder and Creative Director of the Shanghai-based design and media technology consultancy, Super Nature Design, comments: "The gallery brings together the key elements of digital art and core techniques that allow an image to be brought alive and successfully communicate the Japanese brand DNA and dynamic nature of the ‘Inspired Performance’ philosophy of Infiniti."
