Hyundai is sending a couple from Nottinghamshire off on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday in and around the Grand Canyon, their prize for entering a national prize draw run by Hyundai dealers to mark the launch of the company’s Tucson 4x4 SUV.
Andrew and Amanda Wheeldon, from Rainworth, visited their local Hyundai dealer, Speeds of Nottingham, on the open day to mark the launch of the Tucson. More than 1,600 people entered the competition to win the prize holiday, staged at dealers all around the country.
Mr Wheeldon, a service engineer, said: "I was amazed when I received the letter telling us we’d won! This sort of holiday suits us down to the ground; we enjoy camping and I do a lot of mountain biking. You always read about people winning holidays, but you never think it will be you!"
And to make sure the Wheeldons’ sons, Archie and Amos, weren’t left out, the kind hearted dealership staff bought toys for the youngsters - a Transformers set for Archie, eight, and a remote control car for Amos, seven.
On their amazing holiday the Wheeldons will try river rafting on the Colorado River, mountain biking in the Canyonlands, will hike along the Grand Canyon, and take a 4x4 tour around Monument Valley.
Hyundai’s Tucson has proved to be a massive success story for the company, with more than 800 already sold since its launch in July.
Tucson prices start at £15,995, and all models come with Hyundai’s pioneering five year, unlimited mileage, fully transferable warranty.
Hyundai’s four-wheel drive family was completed with the arrival of the Tucson, complementing the larger Santa Fe and Terracan.
