Hyundai Getz owner Moira Adams got the shock of her life when she left her sister’s house after a visit – to find a 40 ft pine tree lying on top of her car!
And even more amazingly the car was barely damaged and completely driveable!
Mrs Adams has owned her Getz 1.3 CDX automatic for six months before the unfortunate encounter with the tree.
She said: "I was very happy with the car; it was the first new car I’d owned for some 30 years."
Mrs Adams was visiting her sister in Lancashire on 20 March, during the very stormy weather that affected the UK at the time – and neither of them heard the tree coming down.
When Mrs Adams came to leave her sister’s house, they were greeted with the sight of the pine tree resting neatly on the Getz’ roof.
She said: "I was absolutely amazed. Everybody came out to look. The roof was a little rippled, and there is a bit of damage to the door surround, but it is perfectly driveable – it’s very surprising."
Mrs Adams, who has also owned an Accent in the past, said she would definitely buy another Hyundai again in the future – especially considering how tough her current Getz has proved to be.
