The new Hyundai Veloster has been awarded the maximum 5-star safety rating by EuroNCAP.
A contributing factor in the safety rating of the Veloster has been the inclusion of a tyre pressure monitoring system or TPMS.
The Hyundai Veloster’s TPMS was developed by Schrader Electronics and is produced in their Northern Ireland factory located in Belfast.
TPMS will become a legal requirement to be fitted to all new cars sold across Europe from November 2012 and in addition to helping to reduce road deaths and casualties – tyre related road deaths in the UK in the last five years have reached 164 – but will also help the environment, correctly inflated tyres use less fuel and emit less CO2 emissions.
