Hyundai is celebrating receiving a major accolade for its highly praised Santa Fe SUV. The 2.2 CRTD GSi 7-seat was named ‘Best Buy Large 4x4 under £30,000’ at the prestigious What Car? 2007 awards.
Commenting on the Awards, What Car? said: “The Santa Fe is priced to rival Land Rover’s Freelander, but its size puts it up against some far meatier opposition - which makes its value all the more remarkable.”
Available with seven seats and a high level of standard equipment, the Santa Fe is priced from £20,020 on the road (5-seat 2.2 CRTD GSi). And, as What Car?’s recognition confirms, competes squarely with the very best in the large SUV market.
With seven seats, the Santa Fe also represents a stylish and highly practical alternative to a people carrier or MPV, offering equal space and flexibility but with the added benefit of four-wheel drive when required.
Commenting further about the Santa Fe in its current awards issue, What Car? states: “One extra feather in its cap is a five year warranty. Off-Roaders tend not to have the greatest reputation for reliability. A Santa Fe shouldn’t give you any problems, but that warranty is superb peace of mind.”
What Car?’s other ‘Best Buy Large 4x4’s’ were Land Rover’s Discovery in the £30-40,000 price range and Range Rover for over £40,000.
