Hyundai have revised the i40 Tourer and Saloon editions with new interior and exterior detailing, an updated engine line-up; improve ride and handling, and a new audio / navigation system.
The exterior features a new front grille, a new bumper with integrated LED fog lamps. There is a new range of 16 and 18 inch alloy wheel designs.
Hyundai have introduced the option of Smart High Beam (SHB) system to i40 range which can automatically control the switching of full-beam to avoid dazzling other drivers. The new Speed Limit Identification Function can read road side speed signs to warn the driver if they are speeding.
The navigation system sees an enhanced touch screen interface and better rendering, where there are two new audio systems, including the introduction of a DAB tuner on the top line version.
The engine line-up has been re-worked with two Euro6 complaint 1.7-litre diesel engines, with the choice of either 115PS/280Nm or 141PS/340Nm power outputs. There is the introduction of a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for 141PS unit which promises improved fuel efficiency with the option of fully automatic or manual changes via the steering wheel paddles.
To improved ride and handling Advanced Traction Cornering Control (ATCC) has been introduced to emulate the characteristics of a limited-slip differential during cornering, to aid traction.
The Hyundai i40 Tourer will benefit from the Rear Electronic Damping Control System that allows the driver to adapt the suspension settings via the drive mode selector to suit their driving style. -The steering, the transmission logic and throttle response (on automatic cars) are all influenced by the selection.
