With Honda (UK) heading for an all time car sales record this year, more and more people are turning to the brand. The reason is simple: Honda offers one of the most exciting product ranges within the industry – and allies this with top notch quality and exceptional value.
Right now, there’s even more reason for buyers to consider the brand because Honda is launching some great new consumer offers for the June to September summer period. The company will also be launching new versions of the CR-V and Jazz models, further enhancements to the Accord range – and a brand new Civic limited edition called the Vision.
Inspired Vision
Available in the new Vivid Blue pearlescent finish as well as Satin Silver metallic, the Civic Vision truly represents the best value of today’s limited editions.
Priced identically with Civic 1.4i E models – at £9995 (3dr) and £10,995 (5dr) – the Vision adds air-conditioning, metallic paint, CD player, side SRS airbags, remote central locking and heated electric mirrors to the entry model Civic at no extra cost. The 5 door Vision will also be available in limited numbers with the 1.6i VTEC engine and automatic gearbox, at £11,995.
Like all Civics, the Vision also has anti-lock brakes, twin front SRS airbags, electric power steering, a three year / 90,000 mile warranty plus one of the most comfortable and roomy interiors of any compact hatch currently on sale.
CR-V gets the SE Executive treatment
Already the new CR-V range has established itself as Britain’s top selling petrol 4x4. But now there’s a third model in the line up, the 2.0 i-VTEC SE Executive.
Like the SE Sport, the SE Executive has a specification that includes climate control air con, twin front / side SRS airbags, tilt / slide glass sunroof, RDS / CD audio and much more. But the new flagship model gets 16in (instead of 15in) alloy wheels, leather upholstery with heated front seats, state-of-the-art DVD satellite navigation, plus metallic paint at no extra cost.
The CR-V 2.0 i-VTEC SE Executive is priced at £20,495 (Manual) and £21,395 (Auto).
Accord range gets added equipment
Honda’s Accord just keeps on getting better. Barely two months ago, the revised line up saw price reductions of between £1000 and £1700, but now Honda has added improved trim and equipment to its stalwart saloon and hatchback models.
The additions comprise electric rear windows for the 1.8i VTEC Sport; leather gear knob and steering wheel, body coloured door handles, door protectors and mirror housings for the SE and body coloured side sill for the SE Executive. Additionally there are champagne stitching and inserts for the SE and SE Executive when specified with the dark / black interior.
There are also some colour changes to the Accord range, with Chianti Red pearl as an additional fourth colour for the Type-V – but with Taffetta White, Milano Red and Chianti Red pearl withdrawn from SE and SE Executive models.
Jazz shifts up a gear
The Jazz is one of the cleverest small cars on the market, as well as one of the most fun. From August this year, its appeal will be broadened with the availability of a new CVT-7 gearbox – optional on SE and SE Sport grades.
CVT stands for Continuously Variable Transmission. This system offers the customer the two-pedal convenience of an automatic but with the fuel economy of a manual. CVT-7 goes several steps beyond the norm by offering CVT or "stepped" auto modes (with similar behaviour to a conventional auto ’box), as well as the more exciting prospect of 7-speed manual mode, with gears selectable by F1-style steering wheel mounted selector switches.
CVT-7 enhances both the fun and operating convenience of the Jazz – and will carry a premium of just £900.
