Science Minister Takes A Ride In Honda's Clean Machine

Honda Civic IMA

The countdown has begun.........with exactly one month to the start of London Congestion Charging on 17 Feb, Honda showcased its all-new, congestion charge- beating Civic IMA at the launch of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership.

Lord Sainsbury, the Science and Innovation Minister, was driven to the London launch event in Honda’s latest clean air machine, the Civic IMA, a petrol electric car of great usability and practicality.

Lord Sainsbury said, "The Government is committed to the UK becoming a leading player in reducing carbon from our environment. Road transport contributes 85 per cent of all carbon emitted by the transport sector. We have therefore set targets for the numbers of low carbon vehicles sold in 2012, and we expect the numbers of low carbon vehicles on the road to increase substantially."

The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership aims to promote the take up of low carbon vehicles and develop the UK as a market leader in clean air transport.
