David Strangeway is the new General Manager for Honda (UK), Car Division. The role became effective from the 1 May 2002.
David brings with him a wealth of experience from the Motor industry, and since 1990, from within Honda. His background includes Franchise and Dealer Development, National Corporate Sales, Regional Sales Management and Human Resource Management, all of which provides a solid and clear commercial understanding of all aspects of the car industry. In addition, his understanding of Honda's vision for the future and the company philosophy serve to strengthen his ability to drive the business forward.
"My brief is to increase Honda car sales in Britain to support our local manufacturing facility at Swindon – and to improve profitability," says Strangeway. "Honda already has tremendous products, great dealers and enthusiastic staff – but not everyone knows about it. My job, through advertising such as the new TV campaign, is to make more people aware of Honda and the passion within it. It’s a dedication that gets things right, produces inspired designs and helps people pursue their dreams.
"Above all, I want to ensure that our customers are completely satisfied, because this is the surest route towards our enduring success," he adds.
Strangeway enters into the role at a time when Honda (UK)’s business is achieving dramatic new car sales growth, with year to date sales up 19% compared with the same period last year.
