When it comes to the fleet sector the Holy Grail for any manufacturer is to reduce high cost business but at the same time increase sales.
Honda is currently in the enviable position of having found it…
Year on Year fleet sales are up by 29% and Honda’s increase in September was larger than any other manufacturer’s.
"What’s really exciting is that our growth has come from where we wanted - user choosers - not high cost quick return business," commented James Daulton, Head Of Corporate Sales. "We never used to appear in the Top 10 manufacturers tables, but now we feature every month.
"We have a fantastic product line-up and awareness is growing all the time which drives up demand. For instance, we have sold three times as many Accord Tourer Petrols as we had last year and CR-V now represents nearly 40% of the petrol SUV corporate market."
Swindon-built Civic is up 7% on sales fuelled mainly by growth in 5 door diesel and 3 door petrol.
With the launch of Honda’s six seat FR-V and the new i-CTDi diesel CR-V around the corner, Honda is sitting pretty and looking forward to a record year.
