Honda is helping Britain develop a fitter police force by actively supporting the newly formed Police Sport UK, the organisation formerly known as the Police Athletic Association.
A Swindon-built Civic 5 door loaned from Honda (UK) is enabling the organisation to promote and develop its activities throughout the length and breadth of Britain. The car will be used by Jim Cowan, National Sports Development Manager for the organisation to visit police forces, sports centres, and National governing bodies on behalf of Police Sport UK.
Honda has a long standing commitment to work with the police and other service organisations, and to be ‘seen as a company that society wants to exist’. It also has strong empathy with the sports organisation, whose aim is to encourage all forms of amateur sport and its connection to a ‘physical fitness for life’ strategy for all members of the police service.
Cowan said: "We are grateful to have the support of Honda, particularly at the early stages of our developing organisation. Police Sport UK is on the verge of a new era of growth in both participation and performance. The loan of the vehicle is a very welcome and practical contribution to our effectiveness and success."
