Honda's worldwide, total hybrid sales hit the 300,000 mark earlier this month, and will soon be bolstered by the all-new Honda Insight, which goes on sale in April 2009 as the most affordable hybrid car on the market.
The new Honda Insight follows in the tracks of the Honda Civic Hybrid, Civic IMA and first generation Insight - the world's first mass production hybrid car, launched in 1999.
Over 10,000 Honda Insight orders have been placed in Japan already; double the anticipated monthly order rate, and in just 11 days of going on sale.
Honda now sells hybrids in 40 countries around the world and expects to sell around 200,000 Honda Insights globally each year, with 30,000 being sold in Europe.
