A lucky Somerset couple picked up their Ford Streetka roadster, signed by pop star Kylie Minogue, from Brunel Ford in Bristol this week, after winning the prize during the BBC's Children in Need charity telethon last November.
Emma and Lewis Shipp from Portishead won the car after being randomly chosen from amongst those who phoned pledging money to BBC Children in Need, which took place on 21 November, 2003. "We were so excited to win this cute little car and we can't wait to drive home in it!" Emma Shipp said as she and her husband sped off into the distance.
Ford Motor Company Limited donated the car, signed by Kylie Minogue at the Paris motorshow, to help BBC Children in Need raise money. The sexy Streetka convertible went on sale in March last year and notched up 5000 sales in 2003, making it one of the best selling cars in its segment. Priced from £12,710, the Streetka boasts a 1.6-litre engine, ABS, 16in alloy wheels, heated mirrors and windows and a CD player. A Thatcham CAT 1 alarm, central locking and engine immobilizer ensure that it is also affordable to own, with a low insurance grouping of 7A.
