An analysis of warranty claims made on cars aged three-to-five years old shows that Ford models cost the least to repair, according to automotive warranty specialist, Warranty Direct.
With an average repair bill of £223.74, the cost of Ford repairs for three-to-five year old cars is £84.97 less than the average for all manufacturers of £308.71. In terms of the UK’s top five selling manufacturers – Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Renault and Volkswagen – Renault performs worst, says Warranty Direct, incurring an average repair bill of £330.23 for cars of this age, £106.49 more than Ford.
"Ford vehicles are not only more dependable than ever, but also relatively inexpensive to maintain," said Simon Psaila, Director, Ford Customer Service Division. "In parallel with these excellent figures from Warranty Direct, our own research shows that customer satisfaction levels for Ford aftersales service are high and continuing to rise. All the indications are that the great majority of our customers benefit from a cost-effective, worry-free and enjoyable ownership experience."
